                        ABSTAIN (Verb)


Meaning- 1) Choosing not to do or to have something.
                       2) Choosing not to use a vote, either in favor of or against something.
Mnemonic trick- The word abstain contains word ‘abs’ and ‘stain’. Stain sounds similar to strain. ‘After getting strain in abs’ we abstain from playing or we sometimes abstain from playing because of fear of stains. Therefore, abstain means choosing not to do or to have something.
