                              ARBITRATE (Verb)
Meaning-  to settle an argument between two people or groups after hearing the opinions and ideas of both.
Mnemonic trick- The word arbitrate contains word ‘bit’. ‘bit’ sounds similar to ‘beat’. Arbiter (or arbitrator or judge) beats the hammer on the table. Therefore, arbitrate means to settle an argument between two people or groups and arbitrator (or arbiter) means a person who is chosen to settle a disagreement between people or groups. 
Synonym- JUDGE, SETTLE
Uses-
  •          Kate will arbitrate the dispute between her son and daughter as to which one will get the last piece of cake.
  •          It’s the objective of the united nation to stop the war and to arbitrate the dispute between two nations.
