              AMELIORATE (OR MELIORATE) (Adj.)


Meaning- 1) to make (something, such as a problem) better, less painful, etc.
                        2) to raise to a more desirable or more excellent quality or condition.
Mnemonic trick- Ameliorate sounds like Hindi word ‘Amul ka rate’. Amul’ s rates are increasing because they are trying to improve its quality. Therefore, ameliorate means to improve or to make (something, such as a problem) better, less painful, etc.
