                 EPHEMERAL (OR EVANESCENT) (Adj.)

                    2) living or lasting only for a day, as certain plants or insects do.

Mnemonic trick- The word ephemeral sounds similar to phenomenal. Phenomenal means something very good or great. Phenomenal days are always ephemeral. Therefore, ephemeral means lasting for only a short period of time.

Synonym- TRANSIENT, FUGITIVE, TEMPORARY

Uses-

  • There are a number of ephemeral organisms that grow, reproduce and die within a few hours or a day.
