                              PARADOX (Noun)
Meaning- 1) a situation or statement which seems impossible or is difficult to understand because it contains two opposite facts or characteristics but is actually true or possible.
2) Someone who does two things that seem to be opposite to each other or who has qualities that are opposite.

Mnemonic trick- The word paradox contains word ‘parade’ and ‘ox’. ‘Ox’ has come into parade and PM has come into the parade, it is a paradox. Therefore, paradox means a situation or statement which seems impossible or is difficult to understand because it contains two opposite facts or characteristics but is actually true or possible.

Synonym- DICHOTOMY

Uses-
  •          It is a curious paradox that drinking a lot of water can often make you feel thirsty.
  •          It is paradoxical that some of the poorest people live in some of the richest areas of the country.
