                            PARANOIA (Noun)

Meaning- medical illness or unreasonable feeling that other people are against you and they are going to harm you.

Mnemonic trick- We can learn word paranoia in such a way that it is made up of two words “parents” and “mania”. We can easily think that paranoia sounds similar to paramania. If someone has the mania of parents that his parents annoy him and his parents always scold him, then it is just a paranoia. Therefore, paranoia means unreasonable feeling that other people are against you and they are going to harm you.

Uses-
  •          You should admit that your fear is just a paranoia.
  •          She was diagnosed with delusional paranoia.
  •           It was a crushing sense of paranoia that told her she was being followed.
