                             ESOTERIC (Adj.)



Meaning- hard to understand or understood by members of the special group.

Mnemonic trick- The word esoteric contains words ‘so’ and ‘teric’. Hindi word ‘so’ means hundred and word ‘teric’ means trick. Hundred tricks are esoteric. They are difficult to learn and understand or understood by only a few. Therefore, esoteric means difficult to understand or understood by only a few.

Synonym- ABSTRUSE, RECONDITE

  •          Metaphysics is such an esoteric subject that most people are content to leave it to philosophers.
